This older-style home needed a stylish contemporary upgrade to its front yard and better access to the front entryway from the driveway and street. For our solution, we designed a simple concrete slab entry path from the sidewalk up to an inviting new stoop at the front door; a similar slab path comes from the newly-widened driveway, while a tranquil vase fountain welcomes visitors at the intersection of the two. It’s all surrounded by colorful drought tolerant plantings, such as Carex Tumulacola grass, a lovely ornamental drought tolerant replacement for typical thirsty turf lawns, as a 20-foot-tall olive tree crowns the achievement!
